Congressional Candidate Ben Loyola’s Statement on Senator Elect Scott Brown Victory

January 20, 2010

You don’t have to be on a Hillaryesque listening tour to hear the American people’s opinion on the current direction of government. When Massachusetts replaced the late Sen. Kennedy with a Republican, the voters voiced the need for a return to conservative principles that this country was founded upon.

Sen. Webb showed great leadership in announcing that Senator-elect Brown should be seated before any more health care votes are held in the Senate, and I concur with his remark.

Furthermore, it is clear that health care reform should be recommitted and focused on solutions to specific improvements on care and insurance that increase choice through competition and lower costs rather than a wholesale takeover of one-seventh of the economy by the federal government.
