Many grocery stores, pharmacies, and other shopping centers have implemented reserved shopping hours for seniors and others who are most at-risk of COVID-19. Below is a list of many of those establishments and their policies. Please respect these policies and share this information with the seniors in your community and others who qualify.


When: Tuesdays and Thursdays 1 hour before opening to the public (hours vary)

Who: Senior citizens, pregnant shoppers, customers with compromised immune systems

Big Lots

When: First hour after opening (hours vary)

Who: Senior citizens and “those most vulnerable to this virus”

BJ’s Wholesale Club

When: Daily 8-9am

Who: Ages 60+


When: Tuesdays through Thursdays 8-9am

Who: Ages 60+ and those with physical impairments

Dollar General

When: Daily 8-9 am

Who: Ages 60+

Dollar Tree

When: Daily on the 1st hour of operation (most open at 9am)

Who: Senior citizens, individuals with pre-existing health conditions, and pregnant shoppers

Food Lion

When: Mondays and Wednesdays 6-8 am

Who: Ages 55+

The Fresh Market

When: Mondays through Fridays 8-9 am

Who: Ages 55+

When: Mondays and Thursdays 6-7 am

Who: Ages 60+

CVS at Target is also providing free delivery of prescriptions. Deliveries must be paid for and scheduled online.

Trader Joe’s

When: Daily 9-10am

Who: Senior citizens

Trader Joe’s also maintains an additional line outside for their senior customers

Who: Ages 55+
